Organic lawn care is one of the most important aspects of a chemical-free garden. The lawn is where we spend our spare time; we let children and pets run free. In most cases, the use of chemicals does not solve the problem, only suppresses it temporarly.

In addition, excessive use of chemical-based fertilizers, fungicides and herbicides leach into our water sources, like our wells and streams, contaminating other bodies of water downstream as well. By using organic, slow-release products in the proper amounts during the correct season, we insure both a healthy lawn and a healthy environment.

No two lawns are alike. They have divers composition of grass and weeds, a direct result of the soil condition. Accordingly,  each lawn require different approach and treatment.  A proper evaluation and revival of any lawn starts with soil texture and structure test.  To ensure the best result, I will work with your-lawn mowing crew, instructing them as to the proper cut in each season.

For your convenience, we offer two levels of garden maintenance:

 

  • Seasonal Organic Lawn Care – This includes a yearly soil test, hand raking the lawn to remove accumulated thatch and dead leaves;   application of lime and organic fertilizer throughout the season as indicated by the soil test result. In addition, we use 4 applications a year of a special organic liquid fertilizer for overall health and vigor of the lawn. Weed suppressing materials, reseeding; airing and dethatching are at extra cost.

 

  • General Garden Maintenance – Full property management. In addition to lawn care, we take care of your whole property. This includes spring and fall clean-up, weeding, pruning, edging, plant division and transplanting and any other gardening task that comes along. I will be in contact with your irrigation man,  monitor your trees throughout the season, dealing with your tree maintenance company as needed. This service can be provided on weekly or monthly or year-round basis. The charge is based on time and materials.
